AI prospect research

Type a name: in 1–3 minutes you get capacity, affinity, board seats, giving and network — with sources.

Suggested ask

The AI tells you how much to ask — with a range and rationale — based on capacity, affinity and your typical amounts.

News with signals

Recent mentions, each flagged as an opportunity or a risk. An alert tells you when the timing is right.

Writes the first draft

Cultivation emails in real time. You add the real words and the signature — the app removes the blank page.

Mimics your style

Upload your best emails: the AI picks up your tone and rhythm for every prospect.

Chat that acts

Ask for advice on a prospect and, from the same screen, create a task, change stage or write an email.

Email sequences

A series of touches spread over time, generated and editable. Mark what you've sent.

Pre-call briefing

A single sheet, in one click: how to open, what to talk about, what to ask, plan B.

Schedule the call

From the briefing, download the calendar event, with a reminder one hour before.

Relationship map

Who knows whom in your CRM, and who can introduce you to the donor you care about.

Global search ⌘K

Press ⌘K anywhere: jump to a prospect or a section in a second.

Decision-maker emails

Find the emails of the right people in a company (via Hunter, optional).

Targeted deep dives

Want just the wealth, or just the network? Launch a search dedicated to that part.

Verified sources

The app checks that the cited links are live and flags it. No profiles built on thin air.

Clear pipeline

From the first time you identify them to the final thank-you. Bulk actions across multiple prospects too.

Tasks and reminders

What to do today, what's overdue, the next seven days. Per prospect or overall.

Goals and forecast

How much you want to raise, how much is in the pipeline, where you stand.

What you spend on AI

Every call tracked: cost, time, errors. No surprises.

PDF for the board

A nicely laid-out profile, ready to bring to the meeting.

Tags, import, duplicates

Import a CSV, find and merge duplicates, organize with tags.

You do the fundraising — you.
Forager just takes away the hours of tedious work.

The relationships, the real words, the trust: those stay yours. The AI gathers, summarizes and prepares — so you reach the conversation ready, not empty-handed.

Common
questions.

How much does it cost?

The CRM is free and open source (MIT). You need Claude Code (Anthropic subscription) for the AI features and — optionally — Hunter.io free tier for decision-maker emails.

Does my data go to the cloud?

No. Forager runs on your computer, with a local SQLite database and AI searches via Claude Code. No telemetry, no third parties.

Does it work without Claude Code?

The AI features (research, compose, chat, briefing, sequences) require Claude Code. The rest of the CRM works without it.

Does the AI replace my work as a fundraiser?

No, and it doesn't want to. Forager does the prep work — searching, reading, summarizing, writing the first draft. The relationships, the choices and the real words stay yours: you reach the conversation ready, not empty-handed.

Can I use it if I'm not a developer?

Yes. There's a launcher ./forager start that does everything: setup, database, browser. After install you never touch the terminal again.

Can I export my data?

Yes: full CSV, a PDF brief for each prospect, SQLite backup with ./forager backup.

For what kind of organization?

Nonprofits, associations, foundations, political parties, referendum committees, NGOs, advocacy groups. Anyone doing major-donor or corporate fundraising.

Can I contribute?

Yes. Issues and PRs welcome on GitHub. Non-technical feedback is valuable too.
